I wear many hats—founder, artist, writer—but the one that fits best is 'Dad.' My children are the 'why' behind everything I do. They inspire the music I write and the stories I tell. Every project I start is a lesson I hope to pass on to them: that you can build the life you dream of with enough love and determination.
Writing is how I make sense of the world and how I escape it. Whether I am crafting fantasy worlds like Eternal Pride or writing practical guides to support caregivers and families navigating dementia, my goal is always connection. Words have the power to heal, to teach, and to transport us. I write to share the knowledge I’ve gained in business and life, but also to explore the limitless possibilities of the imagination.
For me, business has always been personal. As the founder of CAREOSITY and Watkins Enterprises, I didn’t just want to build a company; I wanted to build a legacy. My work in home care and other business ventures is dedicated to educating, inspiring and supporting others. I believe that true entrepreneurship isn’t just about the bottom line—it’s about solving problems with heart, lifting others up, and creating services that genuinely improve lives.
I grew up in a family of musicians and was exposed to a variety of musical genres at a young age. My love for music led me to take up the guitar, and I have been playing ever since. I draw inspiration from a wide range of artists, from Bob Dylan to Beyonce.
Music is my exhale. It’s the place where I can let go of the business strategies and the daily responsibilities and just feel. Whether I’m playing my instruments, writing lyrics, or curating sounds for OmniVibe Radio, music allows me to express emotions that words sometimes can't reach. It is the soundtrack to my life, and sharing these melodies is my way of sharing a piece of my soul with you.
I’ve just completed a new piece, "Je m’ai trouvé (I Found Me)," and I wanted to share some of the "why" behind the notes. This composition is an exploration of neoclassical impressionism, acting as a sonic retrospective of a life lived—from the luminescence of early childhood to the "heavy dents" left by those we’ve lost.
The Harmonic Language: I chose D Major as the home base, but I’ve colored the journey with Gmaj9 and Bm7textures to represent the complexity of nostalgia. To me, a standard triad couldn't capture the "good, the bad, and the ugly." Instead, I’ve used 4−3 suspensions as a recurring motif for forgiveness; that moment of tension resolving into a major chord mirrors the act of letting go of old wounds.
Structural Narrative: The piece builds through a series of melodic ascents, peaking in a climax that reflects the sheer intensity of my children being born—a high-register shift that breaks through the grounded bass octaves.
The Dual Coda: Perhaps most importantly, I’ve written two distinct endings. As we age, we aren't just one person; we are every version of ourselves we’ve ever been. The alternate ending is a nod to those "other selves." The piece eventually settles into a state of quiet reflection—a final cadence that doesn't just end, but accepts.
I’d love for you to listen to the way the D/F# inversions pull at the heartstrings before the final resolution.
